Solid Hardwood Flooring

SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING consists of single boards, solid all the way through. It is not man-made, although it is man-shaped. It is available in many species: oak, walnut, maple, and many more, including exotic species.

The most common thickness is 3/4″ actual (1″nominal). The widths vary, although 2-1/4″ and 3-1/4″ actual widths are very popular.

PRE-FINISHED WOOD FLOORING

These factory-applied finishes are very durable and carry some impressive wear warranties. You can choose from a variety of beautiful stains from nearly clear to very dark.  You may also choose from finishes that vary from flat to glossy.  And, of course many wood species: oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and many others including exotics like bamboo.

Pre-finished wood flooring saves installation time for you.  Often, we can complete an average size home in one day and the floors are immediately available for use.  No sanding is required, no staining is required, so as soon as the last board is in place it’s time to move the furniture in and enjoy your beautiful new solid hardwood floor.

RAW WOOD FLOORING

Solid wood flooring may be RAW, which means that after we install it we will sand, stain and apply three coats of high quality protective finish. You can select your stain as we actually apply various stains directly on test areas of your wood rather than by only relying on off-the-shelf stain samples.

Finishing raw wood is usually about a 3-day process. Also, there is minor dust. We use “dustless” equipment, we will mask off the work areas to mimimize any dust drift, and we will clean up after our work. But remember, no matter what anyone tells you, there is no such thing as “No Dust.” Some minor dusting will be needed after the project is finished.  We will do the job right and you will have a solid wood floor to be proud of for many years of use.  It’s just hard to beat a beautiful solid hardwood floor.
